Back To Eisenhower

Taboo
(Creed)

I lie awake in a daydream
Staring at the walls in shame
And there you are sitting next to me
Feeling exactly the same

You are here in my dreams
As the tears run down your face
But don’t you worry,
'cause I’m here for you
Sharing in your disgrace

Why do these things
They have to be so damn taboo
When you least expect them to

Why can’t we do
Whatever we feel like we want to do
Nothing is right anymore

I sit at the bar on Friday night
All my thoughts have hit the floor
I stand up boldly and shout out loud
“I don’t really care anymore”

Some things in life
They have to be so damn taboo
When you wish it wasn’t true

Love is a game
But sometimes it feels like you just are born to lose
So you lay down and take it
And try not to make it
Work out like you want it
'Cause you quit and you find out that

You had it all and you threw it away
Nothing can save what is left of the two of you

The brightest future, put out like a match
Your world has now become taboo

Why do these things, they have to be so damn taboo.
